Wisp
A note about the product

Why Wisp exists.

Wisp exists because every short clip you send to a friend or family member tends to end up living forever in someone else’s cloud — a screenshot on Slack, a forwarded text, a Google Photos backup nobody asked for. It felt wrong. Some moments are meant to be shared once and then to fade.

Wisp is a small attempt at a different default. The clip is encrypted in your browser before it leaves your device. We store only ciphertext — the plaintext video never reaches our servers. The decryption key rides in the URL fragment of the recipient’s link, which browsers don’t transmit on requests, so the server isn’t in the loop when the recipient watches. The recipient glimpses it once, can leave a voice reply, and the ciphertext is wiped. Twenty-four hours, max. End of story.

It’s not a chat app. It’s not trying to replace anything. It’s a tiny, deliberate primitive: sent · seen · vanished.

Part of a smaller, more honest layer of the internet — built one tool at a time.
